XBEL is a storage format for hierachical bookmarks. It is defined as an XML application. The DTD was developed through discussions on the Python XML Special Interest Group mailing list.
Grail supports the use of XBEL both for native use and as an interchange format. A command line tool is included which can be used to manipulate all bookmark formats aunderstood by Grail.
